Autism Assessments (ASD)
For Adults & Teens
We provide single-clinician ASD assessments for adults and teens (contact us to discuss if this is the right process for you), conducted by an experienced clinical and counselling psychologist. This process includes:
- A structured clinical interview
- Standardised assessment tools
- A comprehensive report with practical recommendations
- Parent/carer consultation and feedback
For Children & other Complex Cases
For younger children and cases where a dual-professional approach is beneficial, we offer ASD assessments in collaboration with Speech Therapist Karina Quince (https://www.nduniversespeech.com.au/) . This approach ensures a deeper understanding of social communication, language, and broader developmental factors.
Our dual assessments include:
- A diagnostic evaluation with the combined expertise of a clinical psychologist and speech therapist
- A speech and language assessment as well as a structured interview on developmental history etc.
- Parent/carer consultation and feedback
- A detailed, practical report for NDIS, schools, and therapy planning
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
ADHD Assessments
We assess both children and adults for ADHD using a structured, evidence-based approach.
- Attention, impulsivity, and executive functioning
- Developmental and behavioural history
- Input from caregivers, teachers, or partners (where applicable)
- A clear diagnosis (if criteria are met) and tailored recommendations
Our reports can be used for educational adjustments, workplace accommodations, and access to medical or therapeutic support.
Many people seek an ADHD assessment for different reasons—some to explore medication options, while others want a deeper understanding of their strengths and challenges. While medication can be an important tool in managing ADHD, the best outcomes often come from a holistic approach that includes psychological support, practical strategies, and lifestyle adjustments. Our assessments not only provide clarity around diagnosis but also offer comprehensive recommendations tailored to each individual, empowering you to make informed choices about treatment and support.
Cognitive & Academic Assessments
Cognitive and academic assessments provide valuable insights into how a person processes information, learns, and performs in an educational or workplace setting. Whether you’re seeking answers about learning difficulties, giftedness, or the impact of ADHD or ASD on academic performance, our assessments offer clear, evidence-based results to guide tailored support and intervention.

Cognitive Assessments
Cognitive assessments measure how a person thinks, reasons, and processes information. We use tools such as the Wechsler Intelligence Scales (WISC, WAIS) to evaluate:
- Verbal and non-verbal reasoning – Understanding and applying information.
- Working memory and processing speed – Retaining and using information efficiently.
- Executive functioning – Problem-solving, attention, and organisation skills.

Academic Assessments
Academic assessments focus on learning and school performance, helping identify specific difficulties that may impact reading, writing, spelling, or mathematics. We use evidence-based tools such as the WIAT-3 (Wechsler Individual Achievement Test) to assess:
- Reading & comprehension – Phonemic awareness, fluency, and understanding
- Writing & spelling – Sentence structure, written expression, and accuracy
- Mathematics – Number sense, problem-solving, and calculations
- Oral language skills – Expressive and receptive language abilities
Who Can Benefit from an Assessment?
Our cognitive and academic assessments can help identify:
- Intellectual giftedness and high potential.
- Learning difficulties (e.g., dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia).
- Strengths and challenges in problem-solving, memory, and reasoning.
- The impact of ADHD, ASD, or other conditions on learning and academic performance.
- Areas where additional support, school accommodations, or workplace adjustments may be beneficial.
What to Expect
- Standardised academic testing
- Identification of learning strengths and challenges
- A comprehensive report with tailored strategies
